Enjoy an evening of poetry, Nov. 19

The Department of English and Foreign Languages invites you to an evening of poetry with Rigoberto González, a renowned Chicano poet, author, editor, and activist writer. Enjoy a special reading from his last poetry collection, Unpeopled Eden, and nonfiction works before he appears at this year’s Miami Book Fair International.

About the Author

Exploring topics such as migration, masculinity, and death, Rigoberto González’s body of work includes poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and bilingual children’s literature. González is the recipient of numerous literary awards including the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship, National Endowment of the Arts Fellowship, Lambda Literary Award, and the 2014 Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize from the Academy of American Poets. He will participate on the panel “Intersectional Poets: Multiple Identities, One Readership” as part of the Miami Book Fair’s Reading Queer series.
