Barry Community Mourns Loss of Student-Athlete

Barry Community Mourns Loss of Student-Athlete
Mike Mikulin was a member of the men's soccer team since 2004 earning the Franz Beckenbauer Coach's Award in 2005.
Dear University Community:

It is with great sadness that I share with you that on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006 Barry University tragically lost a member of our student body, Michael Mikulin, 20, from Geneva, Ohio. Michael, a junior at Barry, was a member of the men’s soccer team as well as a dedicated student majoring in management in the Andreas School of Business with a 3.38 GPA. He was a quiet leader, a great competitor and team player. Michael was well respected, sincere, generous and kind. He will be forever missed by his teammates, coaches and the university community.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006 at Assumption Church in Mike’s hometown of Geneva. Campus Ministry, Athletics and Student Affairs are working together to plan a memorial mass to be held on campus. We will inform the campus community when details have been determined.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mikulin family, the members of the men’s soccer team and all of our students, faculty and staff who are grieving this great loss.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Griffin
