MIAMI--Barry University junior Juan Weisenberg rallied from 6 strokes back to overtake Michael Stern of Orlando's Dr. Phillip High and capture the 2005 Dade Amateur Golf Championship on Sunday.
Weisenberg's round of 75-73-69 (217) gave him a one stroke victory against Stern (66-76-75-218), who had led after the first two rounds.
Senior John Quigley finished fourth after rounds of 70-82-73 (225). Barry junior Hernan Borja, who started the final round in second place, ballooned to an 82 after opening with 71-75 (228) and finished sixth.
There were two hole-in-ones scored during the event. Borja aced the 202-yard 12th hole using a 4-iron. William Cosgrove of Miami also used a 4-iron to ace the 178-yard fifth hole.
The event was played at the International Links Miami Melreese Golf Course.
