LAKELAND, Fla. – Barry University’s tennis teams will begin the fall seasons Friday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association South Region Championships hosted by Florida Southern College.
On the men’s side, 12 schools from the South are competing, while 14 women’s schools will be represented in the singles and doubles tournament. The tournament, as part of the fall season, is based on individual results with no team scoring.
Five women’s players from Barry will compete, including Sonja Larsen, Linda Fritschken, Emma Onila and Ana Pain. Up to four women’s players from each school are allowed to play singles.
Six Buccaneers men’s players are entered in the tournament, including Ahmed Triki, Fabian Groetsch, Kevin Sielmann, Nico Dreer, Franco Echenique and Fabian Pronnet. A maximum of six men’s singles players per school are allowed to participate.
