MIAMI SHORES, FL— Finishing the 2014 season in 8th place in the Sunshine State Conference, Barry baseball is predicted to have a better finish this year as they were voted to end up in 7th place in the 2015 SSC preseason coaches’ poll.
After finishing last season with a 29-19 record which included going just 9-14 in SSC play, the Bucs look to improve on their results and finish above their expected place.
With 11 new players added to the roster to go with a batch of skilled veterans, the Bucs aim to combine youth and experience into a winning formula.
Three-time defending SSC regular-season champions Tampa were selected to finish top of the conference once again, with Florida Southern and Lynn rounding out the top three. Tampa was a near-unanimous first place selection except for one vote going to Lynn.
Barry baseball starts its regular season February 4th with a visit to local opponent, St. Thomas and begins SSC play March 6th against Tampa at Feinbloom Field.
