MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—Sarah Wolfer victimized Mass-Lowell’s off-side trap for three goals as the Barry Buccaneers defeated the Riverhawks 3-0 at Buccaneer Field on Sunday.

The hat-trick was the first for the Bucs (1-1-0) since Emelie Karlsson scored three times against Florida Tech on Oct. 20, 2005.

Wolfer got the Bucs on the board in the second minute. Elanna Brady centered a ball up the middle and Wolfer out-raced the Riverhawk (1-1-0) defense for ball.

The game stayed 1-0 until the 54th minute. Carly Radcliff one-touched the ball up the middle, by-passing the midfield and again Wolfer out-ran the defense to the ball and beat keeper Jamie Gillis one-on-one.

In the 87th minute, Radcliff and Wolfer connected on a nearly identical play to cap the scoring.

Gillis made nine saves for the Riverhawks, while Sami Cromartie had seven for the Buccaneers in recording her first shutout of the season. Lowell held a 19-16 edge in shots.

The Bucs travel to Newberry, S.C., on Sept. 5 and 7 for the Newberry College Classic. They face Newberry on Friday and the North Georgia Saints on Sunday.
