MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers fell 1-0 to the Clayton State Lakers in men’s soccer action at Buccaneer Field Saturday night.
 
The game was delayed for 1:22 for lightning in the area.
 
The Lakers got the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute. Sam Bevan made a long pass up the left side and Ryan Pugh ran under to flick it past Buccaneer keeper Daniel Walsh.
 
Walsh made eight saves, while David Cristofoli had four saves for Clayton.
 
The Bucs are on the road the next two weekends, travelling to Lander on Friday, Sept. 4 to play the Bearcats and facing Flagler in Anderson, S.C., on Sunday. They play in Boca Raton, Fla., on Sept. 11-13 at the Embassy Suites Classic at Lynn University.
