MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—Brianna Smith tossed a three-hit shutout and the Bucs took advantage of four Triton errors as Barry took the first game of their Sunshine State Conference softball series 3-0 from Eckerd on Saturday at Buccaneer Field.

The Bucs (16-4, 4-0 SSC), who extended their winning streak to 13 games, got Smith (7-3) all the runs she would need in the first. After Grace Collins reached on a error by shortstop Sarah Agnew, Alyssa Goldsmith delivered an RBI double. Jessica Tabor followed with a single to drive in Goldsmith.

Collins scored again in the fifth on another error by Agnew.

Smith allowed three hits and three walks and struck out nine to post her seventh straight win and fourth shutout in her last six starts. Alex Sasso (3-6) took the loss for the Tritons (8-13, 0-1 SSC). She allowed three unearned runs on six hits. She struck out two and did not walk a batter.

Goldsmith and Amber Durkin each had two hits for the Bucs, while Collins scored twice.

The series concludes on Sunday with a doubleheader at 1:00 pm.
