LAKELAND, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers set up a showdown with the Lynn Knights for the regular season finale by taking down the Florida Southern Moccasins 3-1 at Barnett Field on Saturday night in Lakeland, Fla.

The Bucs got goals from Mark Anderson, Connor Randel and Randy Taylor. For Anderson, it was his fifth first goal of the season and the 19th of the year, breaking the Barry mark of 18 he had shared with Alen Marcina (2002) and Ricardo Raposo (2004). For Randel, it was his fourth game-winning goal in as many tallies.

Anderson got the Bucs (11-1-3, 3-1-3 SSC) on the board in the 28th minute. Joong Kim sent a cross in from the left and Anderson chipped Mocs’ keeper Andres Guzman from 27 yards out.

Randel struck with just 0:16 second left in the first half. Barry keeper Johnny Rodrigues punted the ball out of the back and found Randel unmarked at 35 yards out. As the defender closed on him, he took one touch around and drilled a shot to the far post for his fourth goal of the season.

In the 75th minute, Augusto Medal broke free on the right wing and drilled a shot from 15 yards that Guzman got a hand on to save, but the rebound came down at the feet of Taylor who tapped it in for the goal.

Rodrigues made four saves for the Bucs, including a pair of one-handed saves on shots by FSC’s Luke Jenner. But in the 87th minute, Gustaf Ytterbom sent a cross in from the left and Jenner head-flicked it on over the head of Rodrigues, breaking up the shutout. The Bucs had not allowed a goal since the fourth minute of the Tampa game back on Oct. 8.

The Bucs now had 12 points in the Sunshine State Conference and trail the Lynn Knights by three. The Bucs need to win on Wednesday, Oct. 26 when they visit the McCusker Sports Complex to have the opportunity to host a first-round game in the SSC Tournament.
