CLEARWATER, Fla.—The Barry softball team split a pair of games at the Eckerd College Invitational on Friday, beating Lindenwood 7-0 and falling to Flagler in the nightcap 2-1.

In the first game, Alyssa Goldsmith went 3-for-4 with three doubles, tying the school record, and drove in five runs. Paula Mackin (1-0) scattered six hits and struck out five without issuing a walk in pitching the shutout.

In the nightcap, the  Bucs (4-2) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the third inning on an RBI double by Natalia Ojeda. But rains swept in and caused one delay before the Saints (6-0) plated two runs in the seventh on a pinch-hit single by Kaycee Lisa.

Brianna Smith (2-1) went the distance to take the loss. She allowed just three hits and a walk while striking out seven.

The Bucs face West Florida and Lynn on Saturday
