ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.—The Barry men’s soccer team closed out Sunshine State Conference play on Monday with a 3-1 loss to Eckerd at the Turley Athletic Complex in St. Petersburg, Fla.
The Tritons (4-10-1, 2-5-1 SSC) scored twice in a little over two minutes in the first half. Tyler Allen connected in the 17th minute, while Nick Murawski scored in the 19th.
Eckerd added another goal just after half-time as Murawski assisted Richard Ainscough in the 53rd minute.
The Buccaneers (6-8-1, 2-6-0 SSC) finally managed to break through in the 80th minute when Connor Randel fed Patrick Drmola for a goal.
Barry out-shot Eckerd 17-10, though on goal the count was 9-9. Jimmy McGregor had six saves for the Bucs, while Alex Gott made seven for Eckerd and was helped out when Ainscough cleared a ball off the line in the first half.
The game was re-scheduled from a Sept. 27 rain out. The Bucs close out the season on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Clayton State in Morrow, Ga. Kickoff is set for 3:00 pm.
