CONOVER, N.C.—The fourth-rated Barry Buccaneers held on to a share of second place at the 2014 NCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championships at Rock Barn Golf & Country Club after shooting a 301.
The Lynn Knights remain the leader after a third-round 291 (+7) and are +30 for the tournament. The Bucs are tied with the Tarleton State TexAnns at +43 in second place. Tarleton carded a 296 (+12) today.
The Rollins Tars shot 306 (+22) today and held on to fourth place at +57. The Indianapolis Greyhounds made a big move, closing from tied for seventh to fifth place, with a 292 (+8), giving them the second-lowest round of the day.
Lynn's Jessica Bradley took over first place after shooting two-under 69 in round three, the low round of the tournament so far. At +4, she moved one shot in front of Tarleton's Jessica Pickwick and Central Oklahoma's Taylor Neidy. Barry's Maria Paola Fiorio is one of a group of four golfers tied for fourth at +6.
Daniela Murray led the Bucs in round three with a two-over 73. She is currently in ninth place at +9. Martina Bertuccioli, who shot 76 today, and Nancy Vergara, who fired a 77, are tied for 25th at +15. Nicky Ferre is tied for 28th at +17 after shooting 78 today.
The final round tees off tomorrow morning, with the Bucs hitting the links beginning at 9:40 in a group with Lynn and Tarleton.
