Kappa Gamma Pi National Catholic College Honor Society annually makes an award for outstanding service or leadership available to each affiliated college. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible for the award. Sophomore status is equivalent to 30-59 credits, junior status is equivalent to 60-89 credits, and senior status is equivalent to 89 or more credit hours.
Barry administration, faculty, staff, and students are invited to nominate students for the prestigious St. Catherine Medal award conferred at the Honors Convocation in May. Each year this award recognizes two students – one from the senior class and one from the sophomore or junior classes – who demonstrate outstanding leadership and service to Barry and the wider community.
Each eligible nominee will be notified by e-mail and will be requested to ask a fellow student and a faculty member for a letter of recommendation. Each nominee must also return an activities verification form, also by noon (12 pm) on April 12th, 2021. The activities verification form will be e-mailed to the student with the notification of eligibility.
It is very important that you provide a Barry and/or other current email address so the student will receive these materials in a timely manner. To expedite the process, please notify the student you are nominating of your intention to do so.
Initial Applications can be submitted on-line to the Moderator of Kappa Gamma Pi by Friday, April 2nd, 2021. The application form can be found on the Honor Societies web site
