Are you a Barry undergraduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above? Are you actively involved in your majors and/or in the larger community?

You may be a great fit for a national honor society!

The good news is we are now accepting applications to Alpha Chi, Delta Epsilon Sigma, Kappa Gamma Pi, and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Societies.

Please note that there’s not much time to apply — all applications must be received by 5:00 PM EST on April 8, 2021.

Alpha Chi is a national honor society whose purpose is to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among undergraduate students and to honor those who achieve such distinction. Graduating seniors with cumulative GPAs of 3.7 or higher and who have completed 45 credit hours at Barry are eligible to apply (visit Student Web for additional criteria).


Delta Epsilon Sigma is a national honor society for students, faculty, and alumni of colleges and universities with a Catholic tradition. It was founded to recognize academic accomplishment and service to community, to foster scholarly activities, and to encourage a sense of intellectual community among its members. Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, who have completed 60 or more credit hours, and service to the community and/or university are eligible to apply (visit Student Web for additional criteria).


Kappa Gamma Pi seeks members who strive for a high standard of personal Christian excellence and scholarship. The society also seeks to encourage individual and group initiative, participation in local and national church and secular affairs, and to awaken a spirit of Christian leadership among the undergraduates of Kappa affiliated colleges and universities. Graduating seniors with a cumulativce GPA of 3.5 or higher, who have completed 60 credit hours, and leadership involvement in church, community, and/or university activities are eligible to apply (visit Student Web for additional criteria).


Phi Eta Sigma is a national honor society whose goal is to encourage and reward academic excellence among first-year students in institutions of higher learning. First-year students who have completed a minimum of 12 credits and a maximum of 30 credits with term GPA of 3.5 (visit Student Web for other criteria) are eligible to apply.
