Dr. Robert Snyder Named Dean of Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine

 

(MIAMI, FL) Dr. Robert Snyder, an established authority in the field of podiatric medicine, will lead Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine as Dean, effective May 1, 2021. Dr. Snyder has been serving as Interim Dean since the beginning of the year.

 

“It is an honor to take on this role permanently,” said Dr. Snyder of his appointment. “I am committed to continuing Barry’s tradition of excellence in training skilled and compassionate physicians and conducting groundbreaking research.”

 

A renowned expert in clinical research wound management and limb preservation and a longtime professor and Director of Clinical Research at Barry, Dr. Snyder is an author and sought-after lecturer both nationally and internationally. His impressive credentials include Certified Wound Specialist Physician from the American Board of Wound Management, Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and Faculty Fellow in Podiatric Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow), among others.

 

“Dr. Snyder is deeply committed to student achievement and the success of the University,” said Dr. John Murray, Provost of Barry University. “His strong track record in teaching, research and clinical practice has served the School of Podiatric medicine well since his appointment as Interim Dean and I look forward to all the future holds.”

 

Dr. Snyder earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Manhattan’s New York College of Podiatric Medicine, his Master of Science in Wound Healing and Tissue Science from Cardiff University at the University of Wales School of Medicine UK, where he is now an honorary visiting professor, and his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Health Care from The George Washington University.

 

Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine is one of only nine schools of podiatric medicine in the country, and the only one in the southeast United States.
