During the summer of 2000, Tree of Life, Tree of Hope was created in gratitude for the news that the artist's father's lung tumor was benign. The piece began as a celebration of life and evolved into a family tree. It was originally designed for installation in the artist's one person exhibition, Small Offerings, at the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood in 2000. At the request of the center, due to the popularity of the installation, Tree of Life, Tree of Hope remained on exhibition through the following Jerry Ulesmann photography show until May 11, 2001, the day before Angelo P. Curreri died from complications created by the insulinoma lung tumor.
In 2002 Tree of Life, Tree of Hope was included in Significant Others: Creativity & Intimate Partnerships, a two couple invitational at Broward Community College's Fine Arts Gallery, in Davie, Florida. In the summer of 2003, the piece was also included in the invitational exhibition, Wealth of Women: Contemporary Perspectives on the Human Form, at the Florida Craftsmen Gallery in St. Petersburg, Florida. Finally, in the fall of 2009, Tree of Life, Tree of Hope was purchased by Barry University and permanently installed in the Kostka Room, Thompson Hall during the artist's 25th year of teaching there.
