Why Is Social Work Right For You?

If you want to change lives and communities for the better, social work might be the right career for you. Social workers are agents of social and policy change who focus on vulnerable and oppressed populations. They are trained for leadership in clinical and administrative capacities. Barry offers its students knowledge and a skillset that allows them to specialize in a variety of areas -- including children and families, veterans services, human trafficking, substance use, and governmental or nonprofit organizations. Barry’s focus on trauma-informed care systems enhances our graduates’ work with individuals and communities, helping them truly heal from generational, historic, and personal traumas. The best part is that social work is a high-demand field that is projected to grow 16 percent by 2026.
