Barry University Foot and Ankle Institute Mercy Clinic has earned a three-year term accreditation in Computed Tomography (CT) by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) in the area of Body CT. The rigorous accreditation process, led by Dr. Armstrong, started many months ago and required extensive evaluation of personnel qualification, equipment performance, radiation safety, quality of clinical images, scan performance characteristics, and more.
“We are honored to have earned this recognition of excellence. Achieving accredited status for CT reaffirms our continued commitment to the quality and safety of CT exams for our community,” said Dr. Armstrong.
CT is used to diagnose conditions of the chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, sinus, cardiac and vascular system. Barry University Foot and Ankle Institute will use CT for the diagnosis, and guided treatment, of foot and ankle pathology. Our dedication to continuous improvement led us to pursue the intensive application and review process administered by the IAC. The process consisted of a detailed self-evaluation and thorough review by a panel of medical experts assessing the critical operational and technical components of our facility. Congratulations Dr. Armstrong for spearheading this certification!
