Campus Ministry Events: October

Campus Ministry Events: October

Title: Succah
Date: Sunday October 13 thru Saturday, October 19
Location: Campus Ministry Lawn

The joyous holiday of Sukkot is celebrated by dwelling in the Succah and the taking of the four kinds of vegetation, the Lulav and Etrog. By exposing ourselves to the elements in a greenery-covered hut called a succah, the holiday commemorates G-d sheltering our ancestors as they traveled from Egypt to the Land of Israel. The four kinds of vegetation expresses unity and belief in G-d’s omnipresence. Occurring after the solemn High Holidays of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, it is a time of joy and happiness.

The succah will be up Sunday, October 13th thru October 20th. It will be located on the Campus Ministry lawn. BRING YOUR MEALS AND EAT IN THE SUCCAH.
