EASE for My Future

EASE for My Future

Barry University has joined with the other 29 Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida (ICUF) to ask the Florida State Legislature to restore the amount of the Effective Access to Student Education (EASE) voucher from $2,841 to $3,500 and not allow it to be need based only.

The William L. Boyd, IV, Effective Access to Student Education (EASE) program provides tuition assistance to Florida undergraduate students attending an eligible private, non-profit Florida college or university. The purpose of this program is to provide Florida students a choice that best fits their educational and professional needs.

With EASE, students who may not otherwise be able to afford college can pursue their degree. With EASE, students are able to take on less student loan debt, a burden we know is weighing heavily on many of our students and their families. With EASE, students are able to break barriers and become productive community leaders, nurses, researchers, business owners, teachers, social workers, and attorneys in society.

To let the Speaker of the House know how important the EASE voucher is to Barry University, we have created a university letter for all students to sign expressing their collective support for the EASE voucher.  Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to write individual letters or call your representative to let them know you want them to VOTE NO against decreasing EASE.  A student sample letter and faculty/staff sample letterare provided. Information on where to send your letter may be found here. You can also post #EASE4myfuture on your social media sites to raise awareness about EASE and its importance to the state on your social media profiles with the #EASE4myfuture hashtag.
