Dr. Robert Snyder Named Interim Dean of Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine

(MIAMI, FL) Dr. Robert Snyder, an established leader in the field of podiatric medicine, will lead Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine as Interim Dean, effective January 4, 2021.

A longtime professor and Director of Clinical Research at Barry, Dr. Snyder’s impressive credentials include Certified Wound Specialist Physician from the American Board of Wound Management, Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons among others.

“Dr. Snyder is a leader and an international scholar with a deep understanding of and a commitment to the success of the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine,” said Dr. John Murray, Provost of Barry University. “I am grateful he accepted this additional leadership role and I am confident the medical school will continue to thrive under his guidance.”

Dr. Snyder’s dedication to both the university and to student achievement is evidenced by his recent generous donation of Barry University Foot and Ankle Institute’s newest location.

“Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine has a reputation of excellence in training skilled and compassionate physicians and conducting groundbreaking research. It is an honor to lead the school as Interim Dean,” said Dr. Snyder of his appointment.

Dr. Snyder earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Manhattan’s New York College of Podiatric Medicine, his Master of Science in Wound Healing and Tissue Science from Cardiff University at the University of Wales School of Medicine UK, where he is now an honorary visiting professor, and his Master’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Health Care from The George Washington University. He replaces Dr. Bryan Caldwell, who left Barry at the end of the Fall 2020 semester.

Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine is one of only nine schools of podiatric medicine in the country, and the only one in the southeast United States.
