New Coordinator for Tutoring Program

Doctoral student Stephanie Auguste Shaw recently joined the CCSI staff as a graduate assistant/program coordinator. Her primary job assignment is the coordination of America Reads and America Counts, which are key components of the Federal Work-Study Community Service Program.

Auguste Shaw is a Ph.D. student in curriculum and instruction in the School of Education. Her experience includes co-founding an after-school program in the Bahamas and serving as the curriculum coordinator for the Haitian Empowerment Literacy Project at Barry.

“Stephanie brings a depth of experience in education and service that will benefit our students, as well as those in the surrounding community,” said CCSI Associate Director Christina Leaño. “She will be a great asset to the CCSI team.”

Through America Reads and America Counts, 30 student tutors from Barry support reading and math in local elementary schools.
