The School of Social Work invites the Barry community to a Literary Gathering for Intellectual Diversity featuring James Cantor, PhD, on the Causes of Pedophilia and Hebephilia.

James Cantor, PhD, is a clinical and research psychologist studying human sexuality and sexual problems. He has been applying MRI and other techniques to examine the role of the brain in pedophilia and hebephilia (the sexual preference for prepubescent and pubescent aged children) for over ten years.

Cantor is the Head of Research in the Law and Mental Health Program of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and is called up to consult internationally on the scientific study of paraphilias and sexual offenses. His clinical activities focus on the assessment and treatment of persons dealing with illegal or clinically significant sexual behaviors or interests, including pedophilia and hypersexuality.
