Our Commitment to Students and the Barry University Community

Barry University is committed to upholding legal standards for students with disabilities (Section 504 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990). Moreover, we strive to go beyond what is required by law to ensure that people with disabilities have an inclusive experience at Barry. We also provide leadership and guidance to the campus community and work to enhance everyone’s understanding of disabilities.

Who is eligible for accommodations?

Any student with a disability is entitled to reasonable accommodations. Disabilities may be related to physical conditions, medical conditions, neurodevelopmental disorders, and psychological disorders. If you have a disability, or suspect you have a disability that has never been identified, contact the OAS for assistance.

How are accommodations initiated?

Students are encouraged to visit our web-page for helpful information about how to get started with the OAS (https://www.barry.edu/accessability.services). They are also welcome to initiate services by visiting our office (Landon Student Union, Room 102) or calling us for an appointment (899-305-3488).
