Barry University Dining Services offers a variety of dining choices for students and visitors to the Miami Shores campus. There are a variety of restaurants to choose from, all conveniently located within walking distance of on-campus housing, labs/classrooms and many off-campus apartments.
Dining on campus provides the social experience essential to campus life. It gives the opportunity to gather with friends, take study breaks, hang out, relax and unwind after a hard day of classes and activities.
Resident Meal Program
Welcome to the Roussell Dining Hall [Landon Student Union], featuring a wide variety of menu options in our all-you-care-to-eat dining facility. Students, Faculty, Staff, and Visitors alike are welcome to the dining hall under the direction of Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services.
Barry University has several resident meal plans from which students may choose. As a resident student, you are required to select a meal plan. Your university ID card serves as your meal card and can be swiped to gain access to Roussell Dining Hall. For those on the go, Roussell offers a great Grab-n-Go feature.

This more traditional meal plan option provides residents 19 opportunities to dine in Roussell each week plus this plan offers $100 in dining dollars.

Choice 10 + $250 Dining Dollars

How the Meal Plans Work: Roussell Dining Hall is the primary location for students to use their meal plans. Student meal plans run on a weekly basis starting on Friday morning and ending Thursday evening. Unused Board Meals do not roll over to the following week.
Daily Meal Swipes: Resident students will be allowed to swipe up to four (4) meal swipes per day (M-F), and three (3) meal swipes Saturday and Sunday. Swipes can be used for whichever meal period the student chooses.
Dining Dollars: Dining Dollars are a great way to dine across campus. They can be used at the retail locations in the Subway, Asian Kitchen, Buc Stop Café [Buc Stop Café @Thompson Hall] Bites & Blendz [Bevilacqua Hall] Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robins [Garner Hall] Bucky's Cove, Union Market and Roussell Dining Hall [Landon Student Union]. Dining Dollars hold a dollar for dollar value and expire at the end of the semester with the meal plan. Additional Dining Dollars can be added online utilizing GET Mobile by the CBORD Group. The app is available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Funds can also be added by visiting get.barry.edu
Meal Plan Equivalency Program: The meal plan equivalency program allows students to grab a combo meal at Bevilacqua Hall’s - [Bites & Blendz] and Roussell Grab-n-Go to substitute a meal swipe off their weekly meal plan swipe allotment. These locations will offer combos in exchange for a meal swipe. All other retail locations can accept dining dollars, flex bucs, cash, credit or debit.
Late Night Hours: Late night dining hours (M-F: 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm) will be offered at Roussell Dining Hall including light offerings available at Fresh Market, Pasta & Pizza Station, South Beach Sub Station and the Buccaneer Grill Station.
Menu: The menu at Roussell is as diverse as its team. The locations features house-made pizza, elaborate salad bar, fresh-baked pastries, made-to-order sandwiches, home-style food, vegetarian options, avoiding gluten, vegan options, local produce, healthy selections, burgers, beverages, coffee, an all-day breakfast corner and more. The menu changes consistently while weekly events and features are set in place to bring excitement to the dining hall. Theme meals are held throughout the year to offer a fun interpretation on school and national events.
Know your Stations:
Pasta & Pizza: This station signs “that’s amore!” the freshly made pizzas and pasta options are always sure to fill your bellies with tasty Italian recipes.
Buccaneer Grill: On this station you will find simple classics of burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, and fries. However, our team likes to get creative and feature specialty burgers and food truck like foods. Looking for something a little leaner? This station also provides our health conscious guest with turkey burgers or black bean burgers upon request.
Build your Own: At this station you can customize your dish with ingredients you prefer. Like your stir-fry with carrots, peppers, and mushrooms? You can build it the way you like! This station goes all out to offer new cuisines to open your mind and mouth to new flavors.
Chef’s Table: The Chef’s Table provides some serious eats. Here you can find home-style foods of fried chicken and mashed potatoes one day, and then the next, find a pan seared tilapia with capers. The options are endless but the beauty in the station is its ability to always offer a well-balanced meal. Vegetarians have no fear, there is something for you every day here at Chef’s table.
South Beach Subs: If sandwiches, wraps and subs are your thing, then South Beach Subs (SBS) is your station. SBS offers the versatility to build your sandwich, wrap or sub however you so choose with the days selection. Enjoy turkey that is freshly sliced every day and accompany it with fresh produce such as tomato, lettuce, onion and whatever else you deserve.
MyPantry: Who says waffles are only for breakfast! At the MyPantry station, your breakfast favorites of cereal, waffles, bagels and breads are featured here all day long.
Fall 2021 meal plans begins with breakfast on Saturday, August 21, 2021 and ends with dinner on Sunday, December 12, 2021. Spring 2022 meal plans begin with brunch on January 8, 2022 and end with dinner on May 8, 2022. Meal plans changes may not be made once a plan is selected. Plans are selected through My Housing.
COMMUTER MEAL PROGRAM
Commuter 175 + $250 Dining Dollars - $1,490
Combine the independence of off-campus housing with the convenience, flexibility and value of on-campus dining. This plan provides Commuter students with 175 opportunities to enjoy meals in Roussell Dining Hall during the semester, and $250 in dining dollars for use throughout the semester.
Commuter 100 + $150 Dining Dollars - $860
This plan is designed for the student that is always on campus but lives off-campus. It provides the convenience, flexibility and value of on-campus dining with an option of 100 meals in Roussell Dining Hall along with $150 in dining dollars both available for the entire semester.
Commuter 50 + $150 Dining Dollars - $550
Created for the off-campus student looking for the ultimate convenience, flexibility and value. This plan includes 50 opportunities to enjoy meals in Roussell Dining Hall and $150 in dining dollars for use throughout the semester.
Commuter 35 + $100 Dining Dollars - $392
Easy, convenient, and budget-friendly, this plan includes 35 opportunities to enjoy meals in Roussell Dining Hall and $100 in dining dollars for use during the semester.
Commuter 25 - $195
Save time and money, this plan allows Commuter students the ability to dine on campus with 25 any time meals in Roussell Dining Hall.
Commuter Meal Plans: can be purchased by cash, check or credit card in the Cashiers/Business Office (CBO). A representative there can also assist you in obtaining a Commuter Meal Plan using excess financial aid or loans. Commuter meal plans may also be purchased at the Student Union office in Landon 103 utilizing cash or credit cards. Commuter Meal plans may also be purchased online on GET.barry.edu
Guest & Meal Passes: Commuter students have the ability to use their block meal plans to swipe their friends and guests into Roussell Dining Hall.

Residents and Commuters: How to successfully navigate your dining meal plan
- Your student ID (BucCard) is required at each meal attended.
- You are the only one who may use your meal card. Only Commuter meal plans allow you to swipe a guest in at Roussell Dining Hall.
- Meal plan weeks, for Resident Meal Plans only, begin Friday morning and end Thursday night. Unused meals do not carry over from week to week.
- Meal plan selections cannot be changed during a semester.
- Mandatory resident meal plans expire at the end of each semester, commuter meal plans at the end of the academic year.

Roussell Dining Hall is an all-you-care-to-eat facility featuring a wide variety of fresh food designed to satisfy anyone’s appetite. This facility serves full-service meals seven days a week to resident students, commuter students, and faculty/staff who are on meal plans. It is also open to all students, faculty, staff, and guests of the University, as well as to the public. Purchases can be made using cash, credit /debit card, Dining Dollars, or Flex Bucs.

Asian Kitchen: [Buc Stop Café @ Thompson Hall]
The Asian Kitchen utilizes an open kitchen format and design that is meant to highlight the freshness of the products. The highlighted Asian concept is brought to life through the use of a traditional mandarin wok and cooking techniques. These include a poke bar, steam table with asian favorites (chow mein, general tso’s chicken, beef & broccoli, teriyaki chicken, kung pao and orange chicken).
Subway: [Buc Stop Café @ Thompson Hall]
Subway has earned a reputation for offering a healthier alternative to traditional greasy and fatty fast food. Subway offers fresh, nutritious, and of course made-to-order sandwiches. Subway is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Union Market: [Landon Student Union]
Our Union Market is a space committed to fostering collaboration, innovation, and creation for our students, faculty and staff. We provide an unconventional and relaxed space featuring a comfortable lounge area to host you or your team's next awesome brainstorming session. Union Market will offer a wide selection of foods and snacks to enjoy in the lounge or on the go including a full Boars Head deli, a Café serving Cuban coffee and pastries, and convenience-store items.
Buc Stop Café: [Buc Stop Café @ Thompson Hall]
Need a wakeup call? Come to Buc Stop Café, featuring popular Bustello products. This location features breakfast sandwiches, pastries and deserts to complement any beverage selection.
Bites and Blendz: [Dominican Hall]
Take four parts customer service, three parts nutrition, two parts taste, dash of moxie, and then blend to perfection. Bites and Blendz is a uniquely fresh concept redefining the smoothie and nutrition industry. With the growing demand for fresh, nutritious ingredients and delicious blendz, Bites and Blendz aims to satisfy your healthy lifestyle. Each “blendz” is formulated to feed the mind, body and tastebudz. They only use the freshest ingredients with no smoothie mixes or sugary purees.
Wiegand Hall Café [Wiegand Hall]
Weigand Hall Cafe has the best combination of traditional Latin-American coffee and pastries, while offering daily-made sandwiches, salads, and other to-go items. The concept fits into the new category of a casual full service cafe with a Miami flair that serves smoothies and milkshakes, perfect for our Miami Shores Campus.
Bucky’s Cove: [Landon Student Union]
Barry’s very own sports bar and grill is full of exciting entertainment like karaoke night, talent night, and trivia night, as well as two full-size billiard tables, ping pong, and board games! Try our gourmet burgers, appetizers, pizza, or fries along with our wide selection of beer and wine. Bucky’s Cove will also feature a breakfast option with coffee and espresso. This location is the perfect place to go before and after a big game!
Dunkin Donuts & Baskin Robbins: [Garner Hall]

Today, Baskin-Robbins has more than 1,300 ice creams in its flavor library, and also offers custom ice cream cakes and frozen beverages.
Sidebar Café: [Orlando Law Campus]
If you’re in the Orlando Law Campus, then Sidebar is where you want to go. Sidebar Café is conveniently located in the Moot Building and open daily from 7:30 am to 8 pm, offering hot daily meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. With Boars Head deli products for their fresh made-to-order sandwiches, wraps, and everything in between. Enjoy the indoor or outdoor seating areas while you look over your notes or grade some papers, but as the only food service on the Orlando Law Campus, Sidebar Café is sure to satisfy your appetite. Flex Bucs
The Flex Bucs account is a declining balance account for all debit functions on campus. These funds are placed on the student’s university issued ID card. At this time the ID card handles the following debit functions:
- Bookstore purchases
- All dining venues on campus
- Business Center
- Printing
Flex Bucs accounts can be opened at the Cashier Business Office (CBO). Payments of cash, check or credit card are accepted. Requests for billing against excess Financial Aid, loans or scholarship funds to your university account are done at the same office. A refund request of Flex Bucs begins at the Student Union Office located in Landon Student Union.
Deposits in this account carry over from semester to semester.
Additional funds can be added to this account at any time during a semester in person at the Cashier/Business office or by visiting get.barry.edu
Unused funds will be refunded upon request.
A university ID card is required for all Flex Bucs account purchases.
A university ID card can only be used by the person to whom it is issued.
Unauthorized or fraudulent use of an ID card will result in the card being confiscated and all persons involved being referred to the university student conduct system.
Any systematic problems with the university ID card must be taken to the Student Union Office for resolution.
Payments of cash, check or credit card to the Flex Bucs account are made at the office of Cashiers/Business Office, Farrell Hall, Room 110. Requests for billing against excess Financial Aid, loans or scholarship monies to your university account are done at the same office. Refunds of Flex Bucs money begins with a request made at the Office of the Student Union located in Landon Student Union.
