The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library supports Barry University’s educational mission through traditional print resources as well as online access to full-text article databases, streaming videos, and e-books. Six librarians provide assistance with research assignments and general information literacy through several means: in-person, e-mail, telephone, classroom visits, or virtually.

During the regular spring and fall semesters, the library is open every day, providing services over 100 hours a week. Library hours are posted on the web page, and are also available by telephone at (305) 899-3760. Library hours are extended until 2:00 am during final exam periods, and vary during semester breaks and University holidays.

The loan period for books for undergraduate students is three weeks; for graduate students, six weeks. Audiovisual materials may be checked out for up to 3 days. Materials can be renewed online or by telephone, and fines and fees are incurred for failure to return materials on time. Course Reserve materials are located at the Circulation desk, and may be used in-house or checked out overnight depending on faculty preference. Research materials not available in the library or online, may be requested through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services.

The Library offers internet access, course software, and productivity software through computer workstations and laptops. Large-print scanning is available using the walk-up scanner KIC 4. To accommodate a variety of learners, the library has collaboration spaces, quiet zones, and group study rooms. Student ID card is required for checking out physical materials and access to group study rooms. Library.
