“Practical Theology as Contextual Theology: Challenges to Catholic Practical Theology Today”

Robert Schreiter, CPPS is a priest and member of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. He has published 17 books in the areas of inculturation, world mission, and reconciliation. Among them are “Constructing Local Theologies; The New Catholicity: Theology between the Global and the Local,” “Reconciliation: Mission and Ministry in a Changing Social Order,” and “The Ministry of Reconciliation: Spirituality and Strategies.” Schreiter has written chapters in 100 books and more than 150 articles in academic and church journals.
Schreiter is past president of the American Society of Missiology and the Catholic Theological Society of America. In addition to holding guest professorships at universities in Germany and the Netherlands, he has lectured in 48 countries around the world. For 12 years Schreiter was a theological consultant to Caritas Internationalis, a global consortium of 165 Catholic organizations, for its programs in reconciliation and peace-building.
