MIAMI SHORES, Fla. --On Tuesday, Nov. 28, the Barry University School of Social Work hosted A Literary Gathering for Intellectual Diversity. The first of its kind at Barry, the event was attended by more than 100 members of the Barry community and featured speakers Brian L. Weiss, M.D. and his daughter Amy E. Weiss, M.S.W., a Barry alumna.
The pair was present to discuss their experiences with past-life regression therapy, and its value to those struggling with psychological and emotional disorders and phobias. The father-daughter team recently published a book, “Miracles Happen: The Transformational Healing Power of Past-Life Memories,” and spent time signing their book after the discussion concluded.
Brian Weiss, who has appeared on numerous talk shows including “Oprah” and “Larry King Live,” is most famous for his 1988 work “Many Lives Many Masters,” which describes his work with a 27-year old woman who was plagued by anxiety, depression, and phobias. When Weiss turned to hypnosis to help the woman, what emerged was the patient’s description of 86 past lives. The book follows both Weiss’s and his patient’s eroding skepticism as they begin to believe in the idea of past lives and the value of past-life regression therapy.
In their revolutionary new book, Brian and Amy Weiss examine the physical, emotional, and spiritual healing that is possible when you freely accept and embrace the reality of reincarnation. The book shares remarkable real-life stories to reveal how past-life regression holds the keys to our spiritual purpose.
Trained as a traditional psychotherapist, Dr. Weiss is now a leader in the field of past-life therapy. He has helped thousands connect with their past lives and experience tremendous healing. Brian Weiss is a graduate of Columbia University and the Yale School of Medicine
Amy Weiss graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Columbia University with a B.A. in psychology. She received a Master of Fine Arts in fiction writing from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master of Social Work from Barry University. Amy Weiss is a certified hypnotherapist and award-winning nature photographer.
