WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Barry freshman Ahmed Triki has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week presented by VALIC. It is the third time this season he has won the award.
Triki, a native of Tunis, Tunisia, led the No. 2 Buccaneers to a 7-2 win over No. 8 Lynn to claim the first-ever SSC men's tennis regular season title. At No. 1 singles, eighth-ranked Triki defeated No. 17 Vlad Cirla in straight-sets, 6-3, 6-4. Prior to singles competition, Triki teamed with Ollie Lemaitre to defeat Daniel Riggs and Paolo Volpiecelli, 8-6, in No. 1 doubles action. The Buccaneers swept double play.
