ADSOE alumnus and student among presenters at 41st Annual FASP Convention

Barry University’s Adrian Dominican School of Education was well represented at the recent 41st annual Florida Association of School Psychologists convention in Sarasota, Fla. Student Jerry Armand and alumnus Mark Horowitz, ’13, represented Barry and were among practitioners and other college students who presented their work.

Armand, a senior majoring in school psychology, presented his directed research project at a research presentation session. Armand’s investigation included a Broward county school’s program evaluation. The program’s intent was to include academic achievement and behavior in the school.

Armand was also nominated for the Outstanding Graduate Student award and volunteered with the registration process during the conference.

Horowitz presented his research at the conference’s graduate poster presentation.  Horowitz conducted research at a Broward county school to examine the effects of school climate and gender on academic achievement. This was his directed research project during his time at Barry University. Upon graduation, he was hired as a school psychologist in Palm Beach.
