MSHSA and MSHSA-MPH graduate students take 2nd place at SFHEF Student Case Competition

A team of students from Barry University’s Graduate Health Service Administration (MSHSA) and Master of Science in Health Service Administration and Public Health (MSHSA-MPH) dual degree programs earned second place during the annual South Florida Healthcare Executive Forum (SFHEF) Student Case Competition on April 14.

The competition, sponsored by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), took place at Holy Cross Hospital. The student team, which included Fabio Florez, Shirae Adams, Jaclyn Ramos, Steven Raveesh and Delivia Duncan, presented their selected case study before a panel of health care executives. The panel was made of Diana Salinas, chief compliance and ethics officer at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach; Dr. Angela R. Burrafato, MHA medical director of Aetna South Florida; and Mark R. Dissette, MBA, senior vice president and administrator of HealthPlex.

The competition was fierce, however, the student team showed poise, professionalism, and expertise. We are Barry proud of our team and thank them for their hard work and dedication.
