The Barry University Psychology Department in Collaboration with Campus Ministry invites you to an observance of the Quadricentenial arrival of enslaved Africans to the shores of North America. This event involves a celebratory component of Black Independence while featuring a discussion around healing Blacks in the Diaspora. Panelists will analyze Dr. Joy DeGruy’s Post-Traumatic Slave Syndrome (PTSS) and contribute their perspectives on Emotional, Psychological, and Spiritual Healing. Panelists will include Clinical Psychologist/Drive-By Therapist Dr. Tasha Russell; Barry University Associate Professor of Psychology, Dr. Pamela D. Hall; Rev. Richard Clements Barry University Campus Ministry Coordinator of Retreats and Faith Formation and the South Florida People of Color's Expressive Arts Therapy and Consent Culture Specialist Richard M. Wright, MA.
