Atelye Thevenet Haitian Artisan Cooperative Mask Initiative
Through the Center for Community Service Initiatives (CCSI), Barry University is collaborating with the Atelye Thevenet artisan cooperative in Jean-Rabel, Haiti to produce fair trade, handmade face masks. Each purchase employs women at the cooperative while providing a second mask to a K-12 student in Haiti’s rural Northwest Department. The project supports economic development and health education as part of Barry’s long-term Nursing and Education partnership with the Diocese of Port-de-Paix. Members of the Barry Service Corps are managing the sales.
