CLEARWATER, Fla.—The Barry softball team got back on the winning track with a pair of wins at the Eckerd College Invitational on Saturday, beating West Florida 1-0 and Sunshine State Conference rival Lynn 5-1.
Natalia Ojeda led the Bucs (6-2) with two runs scored and 11 assists on the infield in the two games. Alyssa Goldsmith went three for five with a double and two walks and drove in two.
In the first game, Brianna Smith (3-1) tossed a two-hit shutout and struck out seven in beating the Argonauts 1-0. Ojeda drew a lead-off walk and scored on a single by Goldsmith in the third and Smith made the run stand up
Jordan Ratliff (1-2) took the loss for the Argos (2-5). She allowed just the one run on five hits and a walk in six innings and struck out two.
In the second game, Ojeda again got the offense rolling, singling to lead off the third inning and coming in on a bases-loaded walk by Goldsmith. Ojeda added an RBI single in the fourth.
Alexis Yohe (2-1) went the distance for the win. She scattered seven hits and two walks and struck out seven.
Kasey Murray (0-4) was tagged with the loss for the Knights (0-8). She worked two innings and face four batters in the third, allowing
