Victoria Champion named director of major gifts at Barry University
Victoria Champion has been named director of major gifts at Barry University and will work in the university's Division of Institutional Advancement.
Barry University announces the appointment of Victoria Champion as director of major gifts. She will work in the university’s Division of Institutional Advancement and will be responsible for spearheading major gift fundraising efforts and will work closely with university donors.

Prior to her role at Barry, Champion had been with the L. D. Pankey Dental Foundation as director of development and formerly served as the executive director of Annual Fund at the University of Miami. She also served as campaign director and marketing director for United Way of Miami-Dade County from 1990 to 1997. Champion earned a master’s degree in liberal studies from the University of Miami, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Woodbury University, Burbank, Calif.

Barry has an outstanding reputation for providing a quality education, long-standing values of social justice and dedicated faculty and staff, and I’m proud to be here,” Champion said. “The University has enormous potential for growth, and I look forward to advancing Barry’s mission with donors at this important time in our history.”

Champion received the national Circle of Excellence Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) while at the University of Miami, and she has been a presenter on strategic planning for the annual fund and other fundraising topics at CASE Conferences and other fundraising workshops. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is involved in a variety of community organizations.
