WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Barry freshman Vojka Lukic (Belgrade, Serbia) was named the Sunshine State Conference women's tennis Player of the Week.
Lukic led the No. 2 Buccaneers to a pair of victories over top-10 opponents, playing at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles in both matches. In a 9-0 sweep over No. 8 West Florida, Lukic blanked Marianna Sonnervig, 6-0, 6-0, in singles and teamed with Julie Stas for an 8-0 doubles win over Sonnervig and Barbara Oliveira.
Lukic then came up big in Barry's 6-3 SSC victory over No. 3 Lynn. The No. 33-ranked Lukic handed Lynn's No. 5-ranked Ioanna Ivan her first singles loss of the spring in a 6-2, 7-5 upset. She and Stas again combined on an 8-2 victory over Ana Kriz and Kim Przeszlowski.
Lukic is 8-0 in singles this season and 9-0 in doubles.
