The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library, Miami Shores Fine Arts Commission, and Brockway Memorial Library proudly present an exhibition of Latino art as part of the “Latino Americas: 500 Years of History” celebration.

Explore the works of Latino artists including Leonor Anthony, Aimee Perez, Diana Margarita Garcia, and Ivan Santiago. Themes include migration, religious and biblical contexts, transformation, nature, and beauty. The evening will include a presentation and discussion with curator Carol Damian, PhD, as well as cigar rolling, specialty foods, and music.
About the Presenter
Dr. Carol Damian is a professor of art history and a specialist in Latin American and Caribbean art at Florida International University. She is a prominent figure in Miami’s art community and is a nationally recognized art historian. From 2008 to 2015, Dr. Damian was the director and chief curator of the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum at FIU. She is the author of “The Virgin of the Andes: Art and Ritual in Colonial Cuzco,” and a contributing author for several books about Latino artists.
