FEMA & FCC to test Emergency Alert System

Please be advised that on Wednesday, Oct. 3, FEMA and the FCC will conduct a test of the Emergency Alert System, which includes Rave. Barry University is a subscriber to Rave.

The test, which will take place at approximately 2:18 p.m. ET, will assess the operational readiness of the infrastructure for distribution of national emergency or disaster messages and determine whether technological improvements are needed.

The message will be a Presidential Alert and will read “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. As a reminder, this is a test and NO ACTION IS REQUIRED.
