On this week’s Instagram Live show, Barry Banter, we’ll be discussing “Changing Lives Through Burgers & Business” with Pat Conlin, President of Jake’s Franchising, LLC.
Barry student Olivia Liu will lead the conversation along with her co-host, Assistant Professor of Management at Barry’s School of Business, Dr. Dale Hartz, at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5.
Mr. Conlin graduated in 1985 from Rutgers University with a bachelor’s degree in business and has been in the franchising industry ever since. He started his career with Blimpie International, working with them in Atlanta and New York. In 2017, he moved to Connecticut to become Senior Vice President for Jake’s Franchising, LLC, the parent company of Wayback Burgers, a 160-plus better burger concept franchising in 31 states and internationally. In 2019, he became President of Jake’s Franchising.
Through franchising, Mr. Conlin has learned many different skills, including real estate, construction, design, operations, marketing, distribution and procurement, and training. The most important quality that he’s learned over the years is to make decisions with input and feedback from your team and the franchisees that you represent.
